Outbound Learning Through a Structured Experiential Learning Program

DURATION: 3 DAYS

VENUE: OUT OF COLLEGE/OUTBOUND

Structured Experiential Learning (SEL), formerly known as Outbound Learning (OBL), is based on the popular axiom “experience is the best teacher”. It integrates variety of fun- filled activities that simulates real-life situations and is conducted in a controlled, risk- free and non-threatening environment.

Structured Experiential Learning is a method that simulates experiences and creates opportunity for learners to discover, comprehend/understand and alter/develop attitudes and behaviours. Most competences (attitude and behaviour) are unconscious and SEL helps in sensitising learners to their competences or the lack of them.

Structured Experiential Learning sensitizes participants to their unconscious competencies by opening the blind and dark quadrants of their Johari Window. Experience-Reflection-Internalisation-Validation Cycle enables the participants to

• Challenge inhibitions, ü Question habits
• Confront fears
• Open up and
• Express feelings in a non-judgmental way.

In SEL, outward bound settings are preferred because they are amidst nature. SEL settings emulate nature, maintain level field (as much as the sun or rain that is same for all!), and provide a risk free and non-threatening learning climate. Here risk-proofing is not only at the physical level but also from life and career angles. The only outcome of SEL is learning and this philosophy is kept in mind during design of an SEL programme. Unlike in a class room, in SEL, our head, heart and gut are involved. In fact, the entire body is learning!!

Microsoft Excel Training Program

DURATION: 52 HRS

Microsoft Excel may seem intimidating at first, but by just starting to use the program for basic tasks in your life, you’ll get a better feel for how it works and also how it can make everything you do so much easier. A very important skill to be a part of the student’s armoury in their corporate journey.

The program aims to build a strong understanding of Excel which would be an advantage in any role in any industry in business, covering basic and advanced excel attributes. Excel is a sophisticated tool that has grown ingrained in business operations all across the world, whether it's used to analyse stocks or issuers, budget, or organize client sales lists – A MUST LEARN SKILL FOR ALL MANAGEMENT POST GRADUATES

Investment bankers and accountants aren’t the only ones who rely on Excel; scientists, teachers, business owners, graphic designers, and so many other people turn to the program for help.

Regardless of what you do in the office, chances are there’s some way for Excel to be helping you do your job better; it’s just a matter of figuring out what that is.

English Communication Workshop

DURATION: 56 HOURS

TRAINERS: EXTERNAL

English is being used as the official language in over 70 countries. Fluency in English, both written and spoken plays a critical role in many aspects of corporate life from securing employment to communicating with clientele and achieving cohesive business partnerships all over the world. As a result, having an excellent knowledge of English for business has become vital for success in any employee’s career.

The program primary goal is to enable students in spoken English by teaching them the nuances of communication (business communication plus email writing) and also in increasing the comprehension capability of student to be excellent listeners there by being relevant in business communication.

Internship Viva-Voce Program

DURATION: 1 DAY

INVIGILATORS: INDUSTRY PERSONNEL (MID AND TOP LEVEL MANAGEMENT ONLY)

VENUE: COLLEGE

As per University guidelines, the Internship shall be for a period of 4 weeks immediately after the completion of 2nd semester examinations but before the commencement of the 3rd semester classes. A viva-voce examination shall be conducted at the respective institution where a student is expected to give a presentation of his/ her work done during internship. (Viva voce is a Latin phrase literally meaning "with living voice" but most often translated as "by word of mouth.")

There’s a huge gap between the kind of skills and the kind of competencies that are required by industry and those being supplied by the institutions of higher education. We have been noticing that there is an excess supply of MBA’s who are academically qualified but do not find enough opportunities for jobs in the industry. This program aims to bridge this gap via an interactive session with Industry leads who participate in the Viva-Voce program and provide students with real time feedback, do’s and don’ts which the students can incorporate and make themselves relevant to the needs of the industry.

The program is a London Stock Exchange Group (Refinitive India) funded program for skilling of young people in India and implemented by NASSCOM Foundation partners.
