Introduction

The student Welfare Committee at RNSFGC-MBA envisions a conducive student centric teaching learning environment and compassionate interpersonal relationship between teachers and students. The committee focuses on all round development of the students by addressing their needs, providing counselling to slow learners, and fostering positive psycho-personal motivation and guidance to them. The student Welfare Committee is responsible for all non-academic matters related to students, including—but not limited to – healthcare, financial assistance, accommodation, transportation, and incidents of ragging and misbehavior. The student welfare Office complies with the policies set by the college in order to facilitate a positive academic environment and help students progress in their academic and other pursuits.

Scholarships are more than just financial aid: They are a lifeline for students with dreams of a brighter future. There are various types of scholarships available catering to the needs of students based on merit, need based and community scholarships.

1. Central Government Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the Central Government to students belonging to minority communities. Scholarship is offered based on the income of the parents. Announcements are made by the Government through an advertisement in the newspaper. Students can apply online through the National Scholarship portal (NSP)

2. Government of Karnataka

SC/ST Scholarship

3. Management Scholarship

Management scholarship is a merit cum means scholarship and it is sanctioned based on the recommendations of the department and discretion of the principal.

Sexual Harassment of women at workplace (prevention, prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013.

In accordance with the UGC (prevention, prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations,2015, the college has an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) comprising of External and Internal Members. In case of any incident of harassment, your complaints may kindly be brought to the notice of the presiding Officer of the Committee (Email: rnsbumba@gmail.com) in writing or through phone (Contact Number: 080-28611110). The Committee will address the issue in compliance with the law of the land in force.

Procedure

  • The complainant to give a written complaint to the Presiding officer.
  • Presiding officer convenes a meeting with the committee within 7 working days of receiving the complaints.
  • The committee meets with the complainant and alleged person/persons separately in closed session.
  • Statements of both parties will be recorded and if allegation of sexual harassment are justified on the basis of the given guidelines and the consensus of the ICC suitable action will be initiated within 15 working days.
  • Punitive action will be taken based on the guidelines of the UGC.
  • In case of frivolous or false allegation action will be taken against the complainant.
  • Confidentiality of all meeting, statements, recordings will be strictly maintained.

Highlights of Grievances related to harassment:

  • Intimidation, open and indirect threats, verbal and nonverbal conduct, physical abuse and other objectionable behaviours and objectionable materials sent through letter, electronic and social media.
  • Undue delay or refusal for forwarding application/ requests/ letters of faculty, staff and students to higher authorities.
  • Detrimental and prejudicial treatment, favoritism shown to particular students.
  • Demand of assigning work by institution/ department after working hours, on holidays without adequate reasons.

Any member of the college community may approach the Grievance cell for assistance, the members being the principal, Vice-Principal, IQAC Coordinator, Deans, Staff Advisor, Staff Representatives on the senate, Head of the Department, and the student president.
